Paul Herbst

In an existential exclamation of withdrawal, Paul Herbst’s photographs at once portray a world of subtle intensities with momentous simplicity.

His images hosts a constant dialogue between what we perceive and what we understand, leaving us aloof in the gaps of unanswerable questions.

This all cleverly comes together in an inter-play of heavy textures and washed out tones.

Hal Sear

The Darkroom, 2008
  Two Shadows, 2008

Hal Sear "My photographs are concerned with enigmatic imagery that changes our perception of those around us. This is reflected in the subject often being captured in intense theatrical colour and light that has been staged within the scene, shadow and objects furthering the barriers between spectator and character. These images explore my personal fiction and how the individual creates an alternative dramatic world, to escape from reality. By making visual arenas that incorporate notions of decadence mixed with a tense beauty I’ve begun to question the human need to seek alternative realities and relationships.

Greg Eason

3rd addition to Print 100 club

Greg Eason's practice deals with a formal and conceptual dissection of space. His meticulously detailed and characteristically sparse drawings and paintings isolate and monumentalise narrative fragments and translate this into a microscopic frame. Objects become rendered as intricate miniature components within a vast negative space- creating an uneasy sense of depth and scale. His works often depict isolated characters gazing into some far-off yet imminent unspecified void. Objects are also presented as symbols, with eggs and skulls being recurring motifs. The ideas explored within his practice comment upon mortality, spirituality, life, nature and the history of mankind.

Maxwell Anderson

Ten Days in July by Maxwell Anderson

When Jun left that summer, we thought we would never see each other again. However, we found it too painful to accept just a memory. One year later, Jun came to visit me in London.
These photographs document the short ten day stay in July 2009, accompanied by personal email exchanges.
