Andres Marroquin

Conditions

This book examines what it means to choose one’s own way of life. It portrays people who lead a free and independent life, and who have to learn how to cope with freedom, to find their own unique way. "Conditions" shows pictures of people who long to be socially accepted without having to conform, people who are “on the road”, searching, hoping and doubting.

Ed Panar

Same Difference

The photographs in Same Difference spread across a seemingly unending landscape. The action is often slight and has since faded. What remains consistent is an almost deadpan method of viewing. The photographs are at once happenstance and at the same time expertly crafted.

James Reeve

Lightscapes

James Reeve has been exploring the night in a new way, stripping away normal visual references to focus not on the landscape itself, but on the vivid scars of light that pierce the darkness. Vast industrialized cities and iconic landmarks are represented as anonymous patterns of light, whilst the contours of buildings are stripped away to reveal the contents within.

Yann Gross

Kitintale

"I mostly focus my work on identities, dreams and senses of belonging to communities. I'm really interested the way people come together and create their own subculture. "

The first Uganda skateboarders were inspired by the television, but hadn't any concrete to practice on in their neighborhood. They built the only skate park of East Africa with their own hand in Kitintale, a working class suburb of Kampala. With no assistance from government or large NGO's, kids from Uganda took significant steps to overcome boredom and poverty through skateboarding keeps the youth busy, combats the development of negative habits and develops a sense of belonging to a community. The elder skateboarders became also kind of educators. They talk about the problems that many Ugandan families are facing like HIV or malaria and try to inculcate values such as respect and solidarity among the younger ones.

Carlo Van de Roer

The Portrait Machine Project

This project explores the idea that a camera can reveal an otherwise unseen insight into a subject's character and their relationship with the photographer and viewer. These portraits are made with a Polaroid aura camera developed in the 1970s by an American scientist in an attempt to record what a psychic might see.

Sébastien Girard

Desperate Cars,

Exhausted, abandoned, wounded, the collection of cars captured by Sébastien Girard are in fact desperate. We find them in the middle of the night, broken wrecks bearing the scars of their mad days wheeled by man. An analytical flash captures them in their everlasting solitude.

Agnes Thor

Aurora Borealis

The ephemeral world of Agnes Thor seems to have stopped in time.

Hours of idleness fuse the images with a poetic and lyrical nature. This is where the simplest things have the most poignant voice, be it an origami bird or a ray of light.
